    Pre-Engineering Technology

    Pre-Engineering Technology | 2 years / 900 hours

    Pre-Engineering Technology 2 years/900 hours Jackson This STEM-based program of study will prepare individuals to apply engineering principles and technical skills to the identification and resolution of production problems in the digital fabrication process. Program areas of study include development and reading of mechanical engineering production drawings through the extensive use of hand-drafting, 2D Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD), and 3D CAD Solid Modeling technologies to design, draw and verify quality control. The proceeding skill sets are enhanced with studies of 3D-Printing Prototyping, robotics and hand fabrication tools and methods. This program emphasizes a diverse set of technical and academic skills, while incorporating valuable work-based learning experiences. Students will be exposed to current and relevant career pathways in related industry sectors such as industrial, mechanical, and electronic engineering, as well as furthering their education beyond the classroom. Students will have the opportunity to obtain industry credentials in areas such as safety, robotics, additive manufacturing, and CAD. Recommended Skills: Basic computer skills, strong math and language skills. Good Attendance. Basic drafting experience a plus.

    Computer Service Repair

    Computer Service Repair | 1 years / 450 hours

    This program is suggested for high school and post-secondary students interested in pursuing a career within the computer service repair and computer networking field. Topics covered in the course include: managing and troubleshooting PC’s and Apple computer systems, the visible PC, visible Windows, visible networks, microprocessors (CPU), Ram, BIOS, motherboards, power supplies, hard drive technologies, removable media, installing and upgrading Windows, command line interface, troubleshooting Windows, input devices, video cards (business and gaming), networking, LAN, wireless networks, internet, mobile devices, printers, securing computers and networks. Hands-on building and configuring complete computer systems are available with lab activities. Opportunities exist for robotics theory, building and programming. Program includes current Smart device technology including: Smart phones and devices, Apple Iphones, Ipads and Android Smart devices. This program targets entry-level skills leading to a career in the IT computer service field. Recommended Skills: Basic computer skills and interest in technology.

    Computer Science

    Computer Science | Tech Prep | Dual Enrollment | 2 years / 900 hours

    This course provides students with opportunities for advanced studies in information technology. The program is open to students who plan on pursuing college degrees in preparation for careers as software engineers, systems analysts, web developers, or other technology related specialties. Topics covered in the course include: information systems and computer applications, problem solving and program design, Internet organization and applications, object oriented design and programming using Visual BASIC, and Java, and web site development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. The course includes an introduction to database design and how to use SQL. Multimedia applications, high speed Internet access, and state-of-the-art equipment and technology are available to students. Tech Prep agreements with Ocean County College and the Art Institute of Philadelphia have been established to provide students with an opportunity to earn advanced college credit upon successful completion of this program. Recommended skills include a familiarity with desktop computers and standard desktop applications like Word, Excel, and Internet browsers.
