OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY The Ocean County Vocational Technical School's Board of Education honored James Mahlmann, owner of NetCetra LLC in Brick, as the OCVTS Business Partner of the Year. Mr. Mahlmann first became involved with the vocational school when he offered internship opportunities to several Computer Science students. The students gained valuable experience in web design and programming through NetCetra. Since then Mr. Mahlman has become a member of the OCVTS General Advisory Committee, the Ocean County Foundation for Vocational Technical Education and has expanded his internship opportunities to include students from the Design and Visual Communication program also.

Ocean County Freeholder and OCVTS Liaison Joseph Vicari attended the presentation at the January Board meeting and commented, "Business partners, like Mr. Mahlmann and NetCetera are vital to the continued success of our students. They provide training and experience beyond the walls of our classrooms. These partnerships instill the values of good work ethic and enable our students to move forward. In this economy it takes more than basic skills to get a job; you need the competitive edge of real experience, you need to be motivated and you need confidence. We recognize NetCetra for their dedication to our students and thank you for your continued involvement in the district."

Mr. Mahlmann addressed the board commenting, "We at NetCetra appreciate this recognition. I work with a lot of school districts and I am always impressed with the enthusiasm and motivation of students at the vocational school. The students who work with us at NetCetra get a feel for what it is really like to work in this field. There are times when the work they do is not exciting, and then we get them involved in some of the more creative aspects and they are thrilled. But that's the reality of work, it's not always fun. It is this experience that will make a difference for them after graduation. It is an honor to be able to work with your students."
