An Entertaining Way To Raise Money For Students
    Jean Sullivian, April 03, 2012

Broad Ray, LLC president Ray Soehngen, left presents big check to PAA PTSO Treasurer Kevin O'Brien, along with OCVTS Assistant Superintendent Nancy Weber-Loeffert and Business Administrator Frank Frazee.

OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY During three recent bus trips, students from the Ocean County Vocational Technical School
Performing Arts Academy, their family, friends and members of the community, traveled to
Broadway to see the smash hit ‘War Horse.’ The bus trips were fundraising activities sponsored by the PAA Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) and chartered through Broadway Ray, LLC, of Brick. The bus trips raised $4,000. for the PTSO.

Broadway Ray, LLC President Ray Soehngen has provided charter bus tours to the New York theater district for the past ten years. He is a retiree of General Electric and through the GE Foundation Matching Gifts Program Mr. Soenhgen is able to partner with non-profit organizations such as the PAA PTSO. The Foundation will donate matching funds thereby doubling their fundraising dollars.

According to PAA PTSO Treasurer Kevin O’Brien, of Brick, “Broadway Ray has been terrific
to work with. The money we raise goes towards scholarships for our PAA students and also to
help defray costs for competitions and field trips which are so important in the students’ training. The fact that the GE Matching Program can double our profits is just amazing.”

Mr. O ‘Brien also added, “We are also very thankful to Stew Swann, publisher of Micromedia
Publications, Lakehurst. He helps us so much with publicity for our fundraisers. By promoting
our bus trips through his newspapers we were able to attract so many people and fill four buses.”

Mr. O ‘Brien, along with OCVTS Assistant Superintendent Nancy Weber-Loeffert and Business
Administrator Frank Frazee recently accepted a check on behalf of the PTSO from Broadway Ray. The PTSO will also receive a matching donation from the GE Foundation.
