OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY Amadeus,' the Ocean County Vocational Technical School's Performing Arts Academy (PAA) Dramatic Production, in partnership with Ocean County College, received top honors at the Montclair State University's College of the Arts 2013 Theatre Awards Presentation, honoring excellence in high school drama. Fifty-three New Jersey schools submitted entries for consideration.

OCVTS Students Assist In Rain Barrel Challenge

JACKSON, NEW JERSEY Students from the Ocean County Vocational technical School's Collision Repair Program put the finishing touches on 22 rain barrels as part of the Barnegat Bay Blitz Rain Barrel Challenge. The Barnegat Bay Blitz is a collaboration of residents, students, businesses and local governments to protect and preserve Barnegat Bay and the surrounding 660 square mile watershed.

BAY HEAD, NEW JERSEY Four months have passed and Ocean County continues the daunting task of rebuilding in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. With budgets stretched to their last dollars and resources scarce, Mayor William W. Curtis of the Borough of Bay Head turned to Ocean County Vocational Technical School for assistance in restoring the Ocean County Library, Bay Head Reading Center, located on Meadow Avenue.

Classrooms and workshops were abuzz with student demonstrations, while instructors were on hand to discuss their programs and address questions.

TOMS RIVER, NJ Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) recently held graduation ceremonies for the Practical Nursing program. 73 student nurses received diplomas for successfully completing the 11-month intensive Practical Nursing program. Families and friends gathered to applaud the graduates who persevered through the extremely challenging curriculum and demanding schedules and completed the program.

OCVTS Holds Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony

OCEAN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY The Ocean County Vocational Technical School’s Apprenticeship Trades Certificate Awards Ceremony marked the end of a long four-year journey for forty-four men and women. The OCVTS Apprenticeship programs require students to attend 144 hours per year of trade-related classroom instruction while logging 2000 hours of on-the-job training with an employer who sponsors the student.
